I was travelling through Europe the summer that picture was taken
I was with a girl from Espana, she was my lover
She guided me through the streets, the cafes, the bars, in Barcelona

I remember one summer evening I saw with another man in the park
She had found another lover who was stronger, had a bit of a swagger

Something changed inside me was it envy or something other?
I think it was love and it was for her new lover

As I found myself in love with a man from Barcelona

I stared at my new lover

My old lover realised what had changed and why
She told me he weren't my type, her lover

He was thinking about murder his role in this lyric but he is shrouded with a doubt befitting of this lyric's deed
Then suddenly he sees a face, a wretched face before his own, who beckons him with whispered promise, haunted charm demonic lisp,
With which he says to do the deed and if you do I'll be filled with glee, I'll satisfy your hungry greed with anything that you do need
So thinking of the great request to be obliged after this quest, you'd think he'd want a better life but wanting more he realise
That best is always better so he tells him with this valour, I want the best of all the possible lives in imagination
But imagination's not my strength or so then says the demon, so please give me an example, oh tell me a mind that is more ample
So he decrees a name at once the writer of his favourite novel, make my life her newest novel, full of charm in which she grovels
And be it so the wish was granted, deed is done he begins his life so vaunted happily, with every chapter comes some glee
His life take on a better glow, intricacies he'd never known, he feels his mind a better home, the best possible of all homes
Then chapter 5 he feels a twist, a flick of pen, his writer's relish, and suddenly a great depth, uncertainty afore again,
It doesn't take now very long for his life story to go wrong, his family his job is gone, his lover disappears at once
He feels let down, he feels betrayed, but more than that he feels he's followed, but whenever he does turn around, he can't help think that he's alone,
But worried still he investigates, this writer whom his life creates, he feels something has gone awry, the demon told a dreadful lie
And through his own investigation he feels himself led by intuition, into a place a family home, a place which he had felt he'd known
And glancing at a family portrait he realise something so horrid, the murdered man was smiling by the writer also smiling and he knows..
He's taken somewhere else, a room he so remembered from the day in which he murdered
And the walls covered with photos, a scene set up in a novel by the writer supposed to grovel
His face is everywhere, the writer must have found him out, of that he was left with no doubt
And the door behind him rattles, there's no way out for him this time in the best possible of lives
The writer she knows, regret abound
The murderer he weeps, my life is bound
